Graduation Graphics & Tumblr Backgrounds
I am done for the summer! Today was my last day of homeschooling so I am officially on summer break! I am glad to be done with it all for now, my brain needs the rest, lol. Today was a busy day for me as I needed to get my brother his graduation present and turn in some paperwork to be a Junior Volunteer at the hospital. I was a Junior Volunteer last summer and I really had a lot of fun (though some parts was a little boring if there was not much to do). My younger sister Booky is hoping to be a volunteer too as she will be 13 in a couple of weeks....the age you have to be to volunteer. It was crazy all the paperwork that had to be filled out, a lot of basic information and signing the paper that listed the rules. We also had to write an essay saying why we wanted to volunteer, our interests, skills, and what we felt we'd gain from volunteering. It seems they have a lot of teens signing up to be Junior Volunteers this summer. In fact, the lady who is in charge fo the program said that they will not be able to accept everyone who has applied. So, they will be interviewing each of us to help them decide who they will accept as volunteers. It will be a couple of weeks before they call us for an interview. It sounds like a nervous time but my mom will help us practice for the interview so that should help....I hope, lol.
, we are really proud of him. I know he is excited to be done with homeschooling and is looking forward to continuing at community college. I will be next to graduate in a couple of years
, I am so looking forward to that. My future plans include being a missionary and a preschool teacher....and maybe even an archaeologist, lol. I am hoping to take some early childhood classes at the community college when I'm old enough so I can earn an early childhood certificate. Once I graduate I think I will probably be going to Bible college....but that's a ways down the road, lol, so we'll see.
Piano lessons have been going well so far, practicing like crazy for an upcoming recital. I am going to playing a piece called "Fish Scales" and I think I have it down pretty well. My sister (age 10) and I will also be playing a duet too, but I've been having trouble with it some, so....practice, practice, and more practice.
and then I got myself some cheesey fries....yummy! We ran into a friend of ours and chatted for awhile, then we stayed to eat and watch some clog dancing (like Irish step dancing). It was pretty good. Time went by really fast and, before we knew it, we had to get on home and get ready for a ladies' banquet at a church. There were food, games, a skit, a devotion, and they also gave out prizes too. I won a prize because my number was drawn, lol, I won some nice bracelets and also got some candy.
But I had to give away some of the candy to my siblings, the candy with nuts in it....I have braces on my teeth and nuts would break them (and I don't care to get my teeth hammered on again, ouch). On Monday night, we went a church's revival services and then went out to eat with the pastor of the church...he's friends with my dad who is also a pastor. His grandchildren and wife had come too. His grandaughter was near my sisters' age so we had a fun time chatting about books, school, favorite movies, and favorite movie characters. Oh, I had a chef salad and a Dr, Pepper for my meal, I could barely finish it but it was good
. We got done there late so we were late getting home too. But....we had fun!
Hi everyone, I'm over here now, lol! I had previously been on Homeschoolblogger but got tired of different issues that kept popping up....like my blog disappearing on me
. So I'm here!
! My brain needs a rest from Algebra, lol, but "Keys to Algebra" does make it easier. I also am getting to go thru a study guide for the "Lord of the Rings" series of books. Yes, I know I've already read these books already but, my mom thought it would be fun for me do a literature study guide with them...yay! Piano lessons have been going good
, I will be playing in my first recital on June 5. I am really nervous about this
, I have a 3-page song to play called "Fish Scales". My cats, Oscar and Max are doing well, although Oscar was a bad kitty
